How to Use the Logo Background Remover
Logo background removal is technically a different challenge from portrait or product removal. Logos typically have hard, geometric edges — letterforms, icon paths, precise corners — rather than soft organic boundaries. The AI must preserve these edges exactly, without haloing, fringing, or pixel-level artifacts that would be visible at any display size.
Step 1 — Prepare your logo file

PNG logos

SVG logos
SVG files cannot be uploaded directly. SVG is a vector format (code-based, no pixels) and must be exported as a PNG first. Export from Figma, Illustrator, Sketch, Inkscape, or any SVG-compatible tool at your target resolution, then upload the PNG
- Use the highest resolution version available — fine logo details (thin serifs, hairline strokes, small icon elements) are preserved better from a high-resolution source
- Maximum supported resolution: 4096 × 4096 pixels, maximum file size: 15 MB
- If you have both a PNG and a JPG of the same logo, use the PNG

Step 4 — Refine if needed

Why SVG, AI, EPS, and PDF are not directly supported
These are all vector or document formats. They contain mathematical path descriptions rather than pixel data. AI background removal tools work by analyzing pixel color, contrast, and edge information. There are no pixels in a vector file for the AI to segment.
The solution is straightforward: export a PNG from your vector editing application at the resolution you need, upload the PNG to Cutout.Pro, and remove the background. The transparent PNG output can then be re-imported into vector tools if needed.

Export at a minimum of 1000 × 1000 pixels for logos intended for digital use. For print use, export at 300 DPI at the intended print size or larger.
Logo Background Remover: Edge Quality on Logo Types
Logo edge quality is the primary quality dimension for this use case. A poorly processed logo shows visible artifacts: a faint halo of the original background color, jagged letterform edges, or missing pixels in thin stroke areas. These artifacts are visible at any size and immediately signal low production quality.
Wordmarks and text logos
Letterforms have hard, precise edges. The AI handles high-contrast wordmarks — dark text on white or light background, or reversed — with excellent edge accuracy. Thin strokes, fine serif details, and tight letter-spacing benefit from a high-resolution source image.
Watch for: very thin horizontal strokes (common in fashion brand logos, serif headlines) may lose detail at low source resolution. Upload at least 1000px wide for text-heavy logos.
Icon marks and symbol logos
Geometric shapes, abstract marks, and icon symbols are typically the easiest subject type for the AI — clean geometric paths with high contrast against the background. Results are consistently clean on most icon marks.
Watch for: icons with fine gradients or semi-transparent fills may need a manual refinement pass, as the AI must decide where the subject ends and the transparency begins on gradient-to-transparent edges.
Combination marks (icon + text)
Logos that combine an icon with a wordmark — the most common logo type — are processed as a single subject. Both the icon and text elements are preserved together in the transparent output. Edge accuracy on each element follows the same principles as standalone icon and wordmark processing.
Monogram and letterform logos
Single-letter or multi-letter monograms with thick strokes process cleanly. Highly detailed calligraphic or hand-lettered logos with overlapping strokes or thin hairlines benefit from a high-resolution source and may need a brief manual refinement pass on the thinnest elements.
Gradient and multi-color logos
Logos with internal gradients or complex color fills are processed as a single foreground subject — the AI removes the background, not the colors within the logo. The gradient or color treatment inside the logo is preserved intact. Where a logo's edge colors are similar in tone to the background, the AI segmentation boundary may be less precise — manual refinement with the Erase brush handles these cases.
